LAUNCH OF THE KENYA/ BURUNDI BUSINESS ASSOCIATION (KBBA)
In the spirit of advancing economic relations between Kenya and Burundi by optimizing available business opportunities, the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Burundi in association with the Association of Kenyans Living in Burundi (AKB) facilitated the official launch of the Kenya Burundi Business Association (KBBA) on 12th December, 2013 on the sidelines of the Kenya @50 Jubilee celebrations. KBBA is the economic aspect of the AKB which mainly deals with social issues. The ceremonies were officiated by The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Ms. Njambi Kinyungu.
The launch of the KBBA was in response to the difficulties facing Kenyans doing business in Burundi. The association would be the appropriate vehicle to effectively engage with the concerned authorities in Burundi including the Ministry of Trade, the Chamber of Commerce and the tax and investment agencies to deliberate on a clear way forward with regard to the doing business regime in Burundi and the facilitation for Kenyan businesses to operate with minimal impediments.
