Amb. Henry Wambuma met with Mr. Marcelino NKO ROKO, Representative of the Economic Community of Central African States in Burundi, to discuss regional peace and security as well as enhanced trade cooperation within Central and Eastern Africa.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on strengthening collaboration between regional institutions and national governments in addressing emerging security concerns. Both sides emphasized the need for coordinated and sustained efforts to safeguard stability across the Great Lakes region, recognizing that peace remains the foundation for economic growth and deeper regional integration.
Discussions also focused on expanding trade linkages and unlocking opportunities for cross-border investment. Strengthened economic cooperation between Central and Eastern Africa was highlighted as a critical driver of shared prosperity and resilience.
Kenya reaffirmed its commitment to advancing stability, regional integration, and collective prosperity across the Great Lakes region. Through constructive engagement with regional bodies such as ECCAS, Kenya continues to support initiatives that promote cooperation, connectivity, and long-term development.
