On 2nd July, 2021, H.E. Ambassador Daniel Wambura, Kenya’s Ambassador to Burundi, paid a courtesy call to Hon. Gélase Daniel Ndabirabe; Speaker of the National assembly of the Republic of Burundi.
The two leaders exchange views on a number of bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest. Hon. Ndabirabe commended Kenya’s high-level representation at the Burundi National day held on 1st July, 2021 during which Hon. Kenneth Lusaka, Speaker of the National Assembly, represented His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta. Both leaders noted that the gesture was a testimony of the two countries’ strong bonds of friendship, and as an affirmation of shared values for the socio-economic transformation and prosperity of the two countries.
The Ambassador highlighted Kenya’s earnest desire to work with Burundi to strengthen the two countries’ relations within the EAC framework in order to exploit immense untapped potential, especially in the area of trade and investments, for the wellbeing of the two countries and the entire region.
The two undertook to continue working closely to elevate bilateral relations between the two countries to a more strategic partnership for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
