Ambassador Wambura Pays Farewell Courtesy Call to Burundi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs
On 18th June 2025, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to the Republic of Burundi, H.E. Amb. Daniel Wambura, paid a farewell courtesy call to H.E. Amb. Albert Shingiro, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation of the Republic of Burundi, as part of the formal conclusion of his diplomatic assignment in Burundi.
Ambassador Wambura was accompanied by Ms. Juliet Kabeu, Minister at the Kenyan Mission in Bujumbura. The visit took place at the Ministry’s headquarters and provided an opportunity to reflect on the long-standing and cordial bilateral relations between Kenya and Burundi, and to appreciate the collaboration enjoyed during his tenure.
In his remarks, Ambassador Wambura expressed his profound gratitude to the Government of Burundi, and particularly to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the unwavering support, cooperation, and goodwill extended to him and to the entire Kenyan Mission throughout his tour of duty. He acknowledged the productive working relationship with the Ministry, which he noted had been pivotal in enhancing Kenya-Burundi diplomatic and development cooperation.
In his response, Minister Shingiro lauded Ambassador Wambura for his exemplary diplomatic service and for the role he played in strengthening the partnership between Kenya and Burundi. He conveyed the Government of Burundi’s best wishes to the Ambassador in his future endeavors and reaffirmed Burundi’s continued commitment to deepening relations with Kenya.
The farewell meeting concluded in an atmosphere of mutual respect and goodwill, with both parties pledging to maintain and further enhance the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call to the Speaker of the National Assembly of Burundi
On 19th June 2025, H.E. Amb. Daniel Wambura, outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to the Republic of Burundi, paid a farewell courtesy call on the Right Honourable Gélase Ndabirabe, Speaker of the National Assembly of Burundi. The visit marked the conclusion of Ambassador Wambura’s diplomatic tour of duty in Burundi.
During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his sincere appreciation to the Speaker and the Parliament of Burundi for the warm cooperation and support accorded to him throughout his tenure.
He reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to continued collaboration with Burundi in strengthening bilateral ties, promoting regional integration, and advancing peace and development through the East African Community (EAC) and other multilateral platforms.
In response, the Speaker thanked Ambassador Wambura for his valuable contributions to Kenya-Burundi relations and wished him success in his future endeavors. He underscored the importance of continued engagement between the two countries, particularly in areas of parliamentary diplomacy, economic cooperation, and people-to-people relations.
