While the Republic of Kenya is still deeply saddened by the death of the Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, C.G.H., the former Prime Minister of Kenya, the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Bujumbura took the initiative to open a Condolence Book as a token of respect and recognition of his memory and legacy.
On this somber occasion, the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Republic of Burundi came to the Embassy to express their sympathy and write in the Condolence Book. Among others, Ambassadors and representatives from the Republic of Uganda (Dean of the Diplomatic Group), the Russian Federation, the United States of America, the Republic of South Africa, the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the United Republic of Tanzania were at the Kenyan Mission to celebrate the life of the leader who has passed away.
Their visit was also an opportunity for the envoys to send messages of support to the Government and People of Kenya. They pondered on the life and contribution of the Rt. Hon. Odinga and acknowledged him as a stateman of high order, a champion of democracy, and a visionary pan-African leader whose brave, indomitable, and just nature endeared him to many not only in Africa but the whole world.
It was through this medium that the Embassy thanked the different scenarios of support and brotherhood shown by the international community in Bujumbura and acknowledged that the late Rt. Hon. Odinga’s life and service were a living example of peace, democracy, and African solidarity values.
🇰🇪🕊️ We honor the memory and faith of the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, C.G.H.
