On 5th May, 2022, H.E Daniel Waisiko Wambura, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kenya to the Republic of Burundi, presented his letters of Commission to His Excellency Amb. Joao Samuel Caholo, Executive Secretary for the International Conference on the Great Lakes, (ICGLR), accrediting him as the first Ambassador/Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kenya to ICGLR.
The Executive Secretary congratulated Amb. Daniel Wambura on the presentation of his letters and further conveyed his sincere gratitude to the Government of Kenya, noting with pleasure that indeed this is a timely act of honour and leadership by Kenya to accredit the Mission to the ICGLR.
Amb. Daniel Wambura underscored that indeed Kenya’s accreditation of the Mission to ICGLR is a re-affirmation of Kenya’s faith and confidence in the organization as a viable vehicle for security, stability and development in the Great Lakes region in line with the Organization’s 2006 Pact.
He further reiterated Kenya’s steadfast commitment to forge a greater partnership with the organization and all member states to consolidate the gains made and address the impending challenges to ensure that the organization is well equipped to deliver on its objectives for the prosperity of the region.
