Investiture of Ranks for Newly Promoted Kenya Defence Forces Senior Officers in Burundi
The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Burundi marked a significant milestone in the careers of distinguished officers of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) through an Investiture of Ranks Ceremony held in Burundi. The event celebrated the promotion of senior KDF officers currently serving in the country and highlighted their exceptional contributions to military professionalism and leadership.
The ceremony was presided over by His Excellency Henry Wambuma, Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to Burundi, alongside Major General Eric Kinuthia, Commandant of the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC), Karen, Nairobi. The occasion underscored the strong commitment of the Government of Kenya and the Kenya Defence Forces to recognizing excellence, dedication, and exemplary service among its officers.
During the ceremony, two senior officers were formally invested with their new ranks in recognition of their outstanding service and professional accomplishments.
The officers honored were:
- Colonel Vincent Rono – Kenya Navy
- Lieutenant Colonel Shukri Abdi – Kenya Army
The event was attended by senior military and diplomatic representatives, including Colonel Wilson Lemayan, Defence Attaché, members of the Embassy staff, and Major William Masha. Their presence reflected the importance of the occasion and the collective pride in the achievements of the officers being recognized.
The investiture ceremony was held on the sidelines of the graduation of Course 10/25–26 at the Senior Command and Staff College in Burundi.
